Help for Audacity on Windows.

This forum is for Audacity on Windows.
Please state which version of Windows you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Help menu > About Audacity".
Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at
https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.
The old forums for those versions are now closed, but you can still read the archives of the
1.2.x and
1.3.x forums.

Hello!
In the libraries you can include "avformat-55". Now I have downloaded the latest version (avformat-58) from ffmpeg.org. Sadly, it does not allow to embed it. Audacity is unfortunately not future-oriented, so does not believe that plugins evolve.
Would be nice if this would be adapted.

Updating libraries is an ongoing task. Audacity uses a lot of third party libraries, which are updated periodically. Updating libraries takes developer time, which is limited as there is only a very small team of developers.
