Hi all.
It's been a few years since I used Audacity and since then I've gotten a new computer and the program has been upgraded a few times. I am running 2.3.3 on Windows 10. I'm digitizing an old cassette tape. I got it dubber over with no problems. I would like to split tracks. It's a family history, my parents rambled on for an hour and I want to break it into smaller pieces. I placed the markers at the beginning and end of each section and made labels. I had to restart my computer so I did "export as mp3_" and saved it with a new file name. When I reopened it my markers and labels were gone. What am I doing wrong?

Re: Changes won't save
The current version is 2.4.2 which is available via the Audacity website: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/
I would recommend updating at your earliest convenience.
Labels are only saved in "Projects" ("File menu > Save Project"), not in exported files.
There's a tutorial for splitting a file: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/spl ... racks.html
