Extending tail on fade-out

I have a song I had to chop off because of garbage right at the end of the track. So then I used "Fade Out" at the end. now the tail is just a bit too short. I'm looking for a way to extend the fade out. It's just a hanging chord. I looked in the forum, and there was a suggestion that was well received to use "Sliding Time scale / Pitch Shift". But I can't find that. Has it been removed, and if so what is the best way to extend the fade out another second or two?

Sliding Stretch... allows you to make a continuous change to the tempo and/or pitch of a selection by choosing initial and/or final change values.

I don't think that's what you want...

I'd try Reverb or maybe Echo or Delay.

If you use echo/delay it's usually best to match the echo/delay to the tempo (beats per minute). If I want to get the tempo, I usually just count the beats for 30 or 60 seconds. And I find it easier to count 1-2-3-4, 2-2-3-4, 3-2-3-4, etc.

And with any of these effects you might want to duplicate the existing track, add the reverb or echo to the new track, and then fade it in before mixing so you don't hear the reverb/echo suddenly kicking-in.

Ok, I've seen Sliding Stretch. What I have is that I had to chop off the end of the song because it had noise right at the end. So I chopped off the last few seconds, and then did "fade out" to have it fade. But it's too short, and instead of fading the last chord for 1 second I need to stretch it to 2 or 3 seconds.

I believe what you want to do is these steps:

1. Highlight the section at the end that you want "stretched".

2. Select Effects > Sliding Stretch

3. In the pop-up box, set everything to 0, except Final Tempo Change. Set this to -90 (%).

4. Click OK.
