No sound after using Voice Trap. (Solved)

Post by Arnak » Tue Dec 22, 2020 12:07 am

Hi,

Update---

It seems it works in a similar way to the built-in vocal remover in that it lowers the gain but with voice trap, it leaves the sound wave looking the same just very quiet.

I have audacity 2.4.2 on Windows 10 64 bit.

I have a double momo track and I am attempting to remove the vocals from a small section of the track using Voice Trap.

The sound is fine until I use voice trap, then after it has been run the volume monitoring is showing fine but there is no sound heard even although the meters are showing up to full volume.

The waveform is still the same and not reduced.

Does anyone have any idea why that could be?

I have tried the built-in voice remover but that is not effective.

Thanks,

Martin

I wonder if voice trap is removing all the frequencies that you can hear, but keeping or amplifying extremely low or high frequencies. You could compare before and after images of "Analyze > Plot Spectrum".

Or take a 10 second sample .WAV sample of the audio and post it here. See: viewtopic.php?p=214897#p214897

I am sure one of the elves will be happy to look at it for you. :D

Hi Jademan,

Thanks for the reply.

I agree, it does seem to be doing that, I guess I'll have to find another way to remove the vocals.
