I've successfully made a test WAV and MP3 of the first 2 tracks of an LP. I was able to use Labels to label each track, and to edit the file to get it like I wanted. Now I would like to record the remaining tracks and then join this test recording to them at the beginning (since they're the first 2 tracks of the LP). Is there a way to do this? The "Splitting and Joining Stereo Tracks" guide does NOT seem to address this; it seems to focus on splitting/joining separate L and R tracks of a stereo recording.
I'd appreciate a heads-up to any guide on joining a previous file with an existing one as I've described.
Thanks — Lyndon

I've had continuous trouble trying to post this question.
Subject should read: HOW to join new recording to existing project?
Sorry, thanks for your patience — Lyndon

You can record or import multiple tracks into Audacity.
To record to the end of a track, just click on the track to select it, then press the Record button.
To record to a new track, press "Shift + Record button".
You can adjust the position of audio clips by dragging left / right with the
Time Shift Tool.
Slide the audio clips into position so that they play one after another.
On Export (File menu), all tracks that are not muted will be included in the exported file.

Thanks very much to Steve and Jademan for the helpful info. Also thanks for correcting my subject heading.
Reading over the links, it suddenly dawned on me that rather than trying to join two files I could just start recording the rest of the LP in the same project at the end of the two tracks I'd already recorded. So I did that and it seems to be working out great. Only have the other side of the LP to go.
I hope I'm doing the right thing with labelling. I'll probably post a question about this in a separate thread.
Thanks again — Lyndon
