As usual, I suspect I have a simple fix problem but I cannot find solution after some frustration spent trying to fix this.
When recording, the cursor disappears off the right of the screen, instead of staying visible where I can see it advancing , as the music is recorded.

oops- I forgot particulars - Win 10, newer HP laptop and latest version of Audacity

Perhaps you've enabled "pinned play head", or disabled "Update display while playing".

Normally, "pinned playhead" should NOT be enabled / selected, and "Update display while playing" SHOULD be enabled / selected.
