yesterday, I opened audacity (2.4.2) to do a stereo recording and all I can get is mono. I am not aware of having made any changes in the parameters fields, but I cannot get back to using both channels, only the lower one.
One added complication. Normally when I stop recording and begin again, a Second "session" starts, as it were in a new stereo track. Now, the recording is simply carrying on on the same track from where I stopped.
Help!
All of a sudden, I have only mono recording

Re: All of a sudden, I have only mono recording
That's normal for Audacity 2.4.2.
To record to a new track, hold down the Shift key when you click the Record button (or "Shift + R").
If you are getting a flat line recording in the upper channel of a stereo track, check your audio leads and connectors.
