Yes, through the round headphone socket on my laptop.

Ensure that the playback device is set to your headphones in the Device Toolbar. You should then be able to hear the beat through your headphones when you play the beat track in Audacity.

It is not possible to route the sound from your microphone through to your headphones without there being a noticeable (and off-putting) delay, because there is no hardware wiring between the recording device and headphone device.

I hope you don’t mind me calling you Steve, but Steve out of all honesty I have all of these things done and it’s still the same thing I can’t hear anything. I looked through the whole audacity manual and I fixed everything it told me too. Everything outside of audacity has audio and is working. I wish I could show you pictures but it gives me a error the file is too big. I previously made songs on a consistent basis until this happened and all of the settings are still the same since then.

Can you hear other things, such as YouTube or Windows Media Player through your headphones?


Open "Help menu > Diagnostics > Audio Device Info".
Wait for the info to appear, then click the Save / OK button and save the info somewhere convenient (such as your Desktop).
Then attach the saved file to your reply (viewtopic.php?f=49&t=64936)
