Hey all,
I just downloaded the software yesterday and am remastering some old cassette tapes to MP3. Unfortunately, I cannot figure out how to use this software effectively. I'm trying to filter out some of the background noise coming from the original recording. Can someone help me with this? I cannot find any help from the user's manual nor from the software's webpage. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Please state which version of Windows you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Help menu > About Audacity".
Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.

Have you had a chance to read this article? Also, you’ll need some time to learn the tooling to make tour recording better.
Just set your practice track to one track. And follow this link.

What kind of player and how do you have it connected? If you're on Windows, sometimes getting a good, simple connection goes a long way.
