Re: Crackle on recording Focusrite Scarlet 4i4 USBC
The 48khz thing is a weird one. For some reason the Denon MC3000 supports 48khz rather than 44.1khz. Just something I need to live with until I upgrade my kit. The Virtual DJ software supports video DJ's too so it can handle 48khz or 44.1.
Unfortunately my problem is still there. I need to set Virtual DJ and the Scarlet to 44.1khz for the live broadcast to the shoutcast server.
The audacity recording is then sent to a server for later broadcast when no live DJ is playing on the radio.
I tried setting the scarlet and virtual dj to 44.1 and audacity to 48khz (and I could then convert later to 44.1) but that doesn't stop the crackles.
The only way I can seem to stop them is change everything to 48 but that messes up the live broadcast stream.
I can't understand why this problem suddenly started as I have been using 44.1 for months.

Can you look through the Windows update history to see what's been updated recently?

I see your thread over on VirtualDJ. Did that solve the problem?
I also see the word ASIO floating through the messages. Audacity doesn't easily support ASIO because of licensing issues.

I'll have a good look through that tomorrow. Cheers.

Yeh I got it all working on virtual DJ with some hidden settings I didn't know how to find.kozikowski wrote: ↑Sun Jun 28, 2020 7:35 pmI see your thread over on VirtualDJ. Did that solve the problem?

As for asio i've been using asio drivers and audacity for 10+ years. Maybe my luck has run out...

Good to know. So you compiled Audacity from the published source code? You don't have the same Audacity everybody else does—on purpose. Did you have any trouble wrangling all the libraries?i've been using asio drivers and audacity for 10+ years.

Oh no. No way. I wouldn't have a clue how to do that.kozikowski wrote: ↑Mon Jun 29, 2020 12:40 amGood to know. So you compiled Audacity from the published source code? I just mean I've been using Virtual DJ and midi controllers that use asio drivers and recording on audacity for that time.
Re: Crackle on recording Focusrite Scarlet 4i4 USBC
I've figured out from my show recordings that the issue started between the 1st June and the 8th June. There was no windows update in that week.
Back to the 48k versus 44.1 thing if I remove the denon mc3000 from the system then nothing should be tied to 48k. If I set the scarlet and virtual dj and audacity all to 44.1 then the crackle persists. Can't get my head round the issue...
