Microphone won't record in stereo when it used too? (-9997)

Post by sorryimjordon » Mon May 18, 2020 5:01 pm

I have a blue snowball iCE usb microphone as well as the newest version of audacity. I've been using the same mic for almost 2 years with no problems, so I'm not sure whats wrong. If I go to tracks and add a stereo track, it doesn't play and gives me an error message that reads "Error opening recording device. Error code: -9997 Invalid sample rate. Whenever I try to do it on a mono track I get the same message, however I've noticed that if I delete all tracks from the project and press "R" to record, a mono track appears and records everything perfectly fine. I've tried using the drop down menu for the recording devices, but it only gives me mono as an option for the recording channel. I have the project rate set to 44100 hz, which is the Blue Snowballs sample rate. Any help would be appreciated!

Problem was that it switched the audio host to windows wasapi instead of direct sounds, oops.
