Audacity Problem: Recording on a beat

Audacity Problem: Recording on a beat

Hello, I have been using Audacity for a long time and have had no problems so far. Now I have downloaded the latest version and have the following problem:
I open a beat and create a new mono track, now I click on the spot where I want to record. Press the red record button, but it jumps to the beat at the end and there it records instead of the mono track at the right place.

If I can't fix this problem.
How to download older version on audacity?

To always start recording on a new track, go to Audacity preferences & tick that box ...

But it will record a stereo track and not mono.

set the number of channels to: 1 (mono)
