sound track effects

Post by TJB » Sun Mar 29, 2020 2:17 pm

I'm new to Audacity and am having some difficulties with what is probably a simple issue. For instance, I recently began a podcast. I recorded 2-3 minutes, then highlighted the section and applied some effects (noise reduction, normalization, graphic EQ, compressor and again normalization) and it worked fine for THAT 3 minute section.

I then went ahead and recorded the rest of the program, another 23 mins ... only to discover that the effects I had added earlier to the first 3 mins, were not automatically applied along the entire track. Aha, I thought ... all I have to do is highlight the entire 23 min track and reapply those same effects ..... but that didn't work.

So, the simple question is "how do I apply 'effects' across an entire track?" Do I do this at the beginning somehow ,,, or at the end?
