Recording from Fender Mustang GT

Hello,

I am trying to record from a Fender Mustang GT amp, using it's USB output port.
After connecting the amp to my laptop, it shows up as "Line (Fender Mustang-GT USB Aud" under the recording device selection in Audacity. So Audacity is detecting my amp.

However when I try to record a track, I get the following error:
Error opening recording device.
Error code: -9999 Unanticipated host error.

Couldn't find a solution or cause of this issue when searching the internet.
Only reference I found was to install the Fender Universal ASIO driver, but this did not make difference.

Any thoughts?

Audacity version: 2.3.3
Windows version: Windows 10 Home 1909

It won't. Due to licensing issues, Audacity doesn't easily support ASIO.

You skipped a step in the middle. Did Windows detect the connection and does it pass sound? There should be a speaker symbol in the lower-right of your desktop. Drill down to recording devices and there should be a bouncing sound meter and it should follow your performance.

Try the different audio host options, (restarting Audacity after each try).

The standard version of Audacity is not compatible with ASIO drivers.

Audacity's free competitor OCENaudio can communicate with ASIO drivers.

Tried the different host options, but no change.
Windows10 does detect the amp.

Installed Pro Tools First. Works fine with the ASIO driver.

The Fender manual says ASIO is the only way to go via USB ...
Fender Mustang GT manual wrote: USB CONNECTIVITY
The Mustang GT rear panel features a USB audio port for recording. Using a micro USB cable (not included), connect a computer with recording software to this port. No external driver is needed to connect to an Apple computer. To connect to a Windows-based computer, the user must download the ASIO driver setup with Fender Mustang device, available at www.fender.com/support/articles/fender- ... asio-drive.
