I've been using Audacity for years. I purchase accompaniment CDs with solo and background. I rip the background and sometimes adjust the time for silent intro. Then I burn it for use in my Karaoke machine. This last product I burned, repeated burns have either slight occasional static or small clipping. I check the original disc and it's fine.

What about the WAV file that you edited? (I presume you are exporting in WAV format for burning to the new CD.)
