Looping

Post by Andy4028 » Tue Oct 08, 2019 9:22 am

Hi, how would I record say 30 seconds of stuff, stop then copy and paste what I've just recorded on the end of the 30 seconds on the same track?
Hope that's clear! That way, if I'm happy with the first 30 seconds of a rhythm I can copy next to it without attempting to make a mistake for the other 3 minutes!!

The "manual" way would be:
1) Ensure that the 30 second recording is selected
2) Edit menu > Copy ("Ctrl + C")
3) "Fast forward" button (or "J" key to jump to end of the track)
4) Edit menu > Paste ("Ctrl + V")

A quicker way, especially if you want multiple repeats, is to use the "Repeat" effect: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/repeat.html
