Problem with highlighting

Post by NKWhitley » Fri Jul 05, 2019 8:19 am

Hi

I am trying to edit a reading - mono - but am having problems because a white band has appeared highlighting the whole of the recording that falls between +0.55 and -0.55 of the height. When I try to highlight the section I want to amend the highlight shows up above and below the white section, but is hidden behind the middle section - just where I need it!

I am using 2.3.2.

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the central band?

It only started to appear on recordings recently and I expect I have accidentally clicked on something, but I don't know what.

Nick

You've accidentally activated the Envelope tool (or the Multi-tool).

Reinstate the Selection Tool by clicking on the "I" beam in the Tools toolbar: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tools_toolbar.html
