So audacity is broken for me.

So audacity is broken for me.
Whenever I hit the record button, the needle on the timeline just stays in place and won't move, and I don't get anything recorded. Anyone got a fix for this?

What are you trying to record? Which version of Audacity? What equipment? What settings? Any other information that may be relevant?
