File Recovery

Hello All,

I have a question about file recovery.

I just recorded a project for work (about 90 mins long), which I can't duplicate. I was distracted talking to one of the people involved and think I closed the program before the project had time to save properly.

I have Audacity version 2.3.0. I tried the Audacity recovery utility and finding temp files which don't seem to work.

So, I have all the e08 files in a _data folder. All of the raw material seems to be there. However, they don't seem to be numbered in exact sequence. When I try to import them in numeric order, they seem to be out of order.

Does anyone have an idea about how to import in the neighborhood of 900 e08 files in appropriate order?

I would greatly appreciate any help. I am somehow kicking myself remembering my dad saying, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."

The little 6-second sound files are randomly named to solve a system problem. The file times and dates are in the right order, however, and there is a desperation method to recover a raw recording.

After a valuable recording, your first order of business is to File > Export a WAV (Microsoft) sound file. That's a standard, perfect-quality sound file which will open anywhere and makes a good performance backup. Use standard characters in the name. Upper Case, Lower Case, Numbers, -Dash- and _Underscore_.

Use ISO dates. Today is 2019-03-27. Do Not use slash marks anywhere.
