How to apply to a batch of files? [VIDEO]

Are they very short files?

When applying a Macro to files, the last command in the Macro has to be one of the Export commands.

BTW #1 the equalization curve is "unnamed", you probably want a specific named equalization curve to be applied.
BTW #2 RMS normalization is usually "linked stereo", rather than "independently".

So you put an export command at the end, and then it puts it in a folder called "cleaned" ....?

Does anyone know how to clone a macro? There's no clone button.

Also, as a feature request, it'd be nice to just put a SAVE AND CLOSE checkbox -- e.g. like batching in Photoshop has. That way, Audacity would just apply the macro and then save it with the same specifications and filetype as the source file.

And when the job is done, it'd be nice to notify the user that a folder exists called "cleaned", and give him a blue link to open the folder.

it looks like when you click the EDIT button, the "Length of Filter" field will populate to the last-selected value. But the "Select Curve" field seems to default to "unnamed." i remember attempting to change that dropdown box several times to no avail. might be a bug somewhere.

You have to create a preset curve, and give it a name ...

Audacity equalization is slow & clunky, but it does work.

Won't make any difference if it's mono,
but "Linked stereo" should be the default if you do have to use RMS normalize on a stereo track.

If you're using an existing preset you'll have to apply it to some audio before creating the macro,
so that preset is specified in the macro ...

The Macros are just text files that are stored in the Macros folder in you Audacity settings folger (along with the audacity.cfg and plug-ins) so you can just go to that folder with Windows Explorer and make a copy of any of the Macros and clone it by making a Copy under a different name.

In due course we intend to implement the Import/Export of Macros which woill make cloning (and sharing) much easier.
