Windows 7, Audacity Audacity 2.3.0, How do I merge audio tracks?

Sometimes when I make a new track and hit record with multiple tracks, it gives a really weird error about them not matching up and I have to close and relaunch to do anything.

Also, is it possible to collapse multiple tracks together?

You can mix multiple tracks together to make them into one track. See: "Mix and Render" on this page: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tra ... u_mix.html
Once the tracks are mixed, you can't "explode" the mixed track back into the original multiple tracks.
