Post by georanas » Sat Jan 19, 2019 5:07 pm

There is a bug in windows 10,when you try to change a tempo of a sample after you put it on a channel and then it is getting sorter.

The steps are:
1)Create a sample and put it in a channel
2)Effects -> Change tempo
3)The leng of the sample is now narrowed

Thank you!

Indeed, that is expected behaviour - changing the temp will change the length of the selected audio (as will Change Speed).

This is what is says on the Change Tempo page in the Audacity Manual:
"Use Change Tempo to change the tempo and thus the length (duration) of a selection, without changing its pitch. "

See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/change_tempo.html

I don't disagree that this is the expected behaviour. It just seems to me difficult to use and that it causes problems sometimes.

Thank you again,
