Is it possible to record and output an audio signal at the same time?

I got an mic which I can plugin through USB and a small speaker attached to the audio output.

It works fine to record the signal and play it back later, but how could I send it to the speaker simultaniously?

I prefer to use Audacity for this, in order to record the signal at the same time.

If I can't do this with Audacity, is there another way?

PS: I am using version 2.3.0 with Windows 10, a t.bone MB88U mic and a Sony SRC-XB31 Extra Bass speaker

There is always latency (delay) through the computer and sometimes it can be a problem for real-time monitoring/performance.

Some "podcast" microphones have a headphone jack for direct zero-latency monitoring. You can plug powered computer-speakers into the headphone jack.

If you enable Listen To This Device you can hear the microphone without Audacity (or any other application) running.

Or in Audacity you can enable Software Playthrougn.
