we use a Tascam 144 MK II USB interface
Audacity has the Tascam selected as the input device
there is no signal on the meters, it records but there is no waveform, no signal
we have Sound Forge 9, it sees the interface and it works fine. Why doesnt Audacity get signal from the interface.

Re: cant record
I assume you mean as the Recording Device?Audacity has the Tascam selected as the input device
...If windows sees it, Audacity should see it and it should work.
Are you sure Sound Forge is working right now, or did it work in the past? Were you using Windows drivers or ASIO drivers? ...If Audacity "sees it" the Windows drivers are (probably) working.

Did you install all of drivers for your device?
I think you miss some audio driver!!!
Check it again by: This PC-right click,manage-Device Manager.
