recording without room ambiance
How can I record audio (say the audio track of a Youtube video) without getting the room ambience picked up by the computer's built-in mic? Is Audacity recording directly from the track that is playing or is it recording via the mic which is picking up the sound from the built-in speaker? In an earlier version of Audacity or perhaps an earlier version of Windows, I didn't have this problem. I am using Audacity 2.1.3 with Windows 10. Could you send a copy of your answer to my email bobATbossinDOTcom? Thanks. bb

That would be no. This isn't a help desk. It's a forum with volunteers and users helping each other. Also, we try to keep discussions on the forum so many people can benefit from the work.Could you send a copy of your answer to my email bobATbossinDOTcom? Thanks. bb

You can configure Audacity to record the computer-output only, (not the microphone),bbossin wrote: ↑Sun Nov 25, 2018 10:40 pmHow can I record audio (say the audio track of a Youtube video) without getting the room ambience picked up by the computer's built-in mic?
