I guess I've been spoiled. I've used Audacity for years and never thought twice about it.
I updated to 2.3.0 and when I attempted to play an .mp3 file I get a weird LOUD buzzing noise and superfast talking. I can't begin to understand any of it. I've installed/uninistalled/reinstalled with/without default settings and it doesn't help.
the file plays perfectly on Windows Media Player.
I accidentally toggled Quick Play and it looks like it's running 6x normal speed. I toggled it off and that doesn't help.
Has anyone else experienced this?
I'm using a Windows 10 64-bit system, and my M/B is 8 years old but has been so reliable I'm happy with it and my SSD drives.
I'm under pressure to fix this and am running out of ideas...
Help Please!

Upload the MP3 to this page and check that it really is an MP3: https://mediaarea.net/MediaInfoOnline
