Factory Presets blank

Hi there.

When I add plug-ins, how come they often have no factory presets?

Beyond that, are there any ways to share/load factory presets from other users?

Cheers
Rick

For plug-ins that are shipped with Audacity, it may be that they only have the default settings programmed, and any other presets are for the user to create.

For third party plug-ins (particularly VST plug-ins), presets may not be supported by Audacity. Audacity only has limited support for VST.

Not easily.
Presets that are shipped with Audacity don’t need to be shared because everyone gets those (assuming the same version of Audacity).
“Custom” presets (“User presets”) are intended to be personalised to whatever the individual user wants.

If you are configuring multiple machines and want exactly the same settings (including presets) to be available on all machines, then you could copy Audacity’s configuration files to all of the computers using “Portable Settings”. See: Preferences - Audacity Manual

A few effects have built-in options to export / import settings (such as Equalization: Equalization - Audacity Manual)

Thanks
