Is there a way to fix plosives

If you repeatedly find you need to go down your recording killing pops, you might want to stop announcing straight into the microphone (if that's what you're doing). Instead, push the microphone to one side. I have used a position about half-way between my nose and my ear. It allows me to get far closer and louder than a position straight in front, with no popping and few harsh breath noises. Professional announcers are horrified at this suggestion, but professional announcers probably aren't announcing into a Yeti on a library book.

Then raise the microphone. The microphone should be about even with your nose, not your lips—or half-way between. And then put the pop and blast filter in. See Lin-Manuel below. His microphone is not straight in front of his lips. It's slightly high and pointed down.

And just to throw cold water on the process, Do Not change anything in the middle of a book. ACX puts great stress on chapter to chapter matching and they hate massive processing. So should you. What are you going to do when your reading hits the big time and you're stuck with months processing for each book?

I don't think you ever said what the goal was. If you're trying to read for audiobooks, get settled and read a 20 second test according to this formula and post it on the forum.

Don't leave out anything or skip steps. This format is designed to tell us the most about your reading with the smallest clip. It's not theater. If you have a cut off a word to make 20 seconds, go for it. The forum will not allow long postings.

If you're reading for podcasts, make changes until it sounds good to you. I've been known to pick a podcast I like and try to match it.
