When recording I get very much disturbance which did not happen before.
Even before pressing Play on the tape recorder just by pressing Record I can see the green graphs already moving, I don’t think this is normal.
Any advice much appreciated.

How is the tape recorder connected? Line-input on a desktop/tower computer? Does the tape recorder have a USB output?
Make sure to select the correct [u]Recording Device[/u] that you are plugged-into. Do not record “Stereo Mix” or “Loopback”. These can create a feedback condition.
