Question about SHIFT + R in version 2.2.2

Several months ago I upgraded all my computers to 2.2.2 and since then when I use the SHIFT + R, to continue a recording, it starts a new track below the current track. In the older version I was using, Audacity would simply continue recording on the same track. So, is there a way to make version 2.2.2 simply continue recording on the current track, without creating a new track?

Press the “R” key.

Because most of our users want to record just one track, the short-cuts “R” and “Shift + R” have been reversed.
To go back to the previous arrangement, enable “Always record on a new track” in Preferences (see: Recording Preferences - Audacity Manual )
