Why is the Effects Menu still one long list?

Please state which version of Windows you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Help menu > About Audacity".

In 2.2.2, you have Effects > Add/Remove Plugins. You could strip out all the plugins you didn't need and only the ones left would show up until you change it.
An early tree structure didn't work. It tripled my production time because it didn't have enough controls.

Or you can go to Effects Preferences and in the "Sort or Group" dropdown choose your sorting/grouping method.

But I've long used Koz' technique to reduce the list length for my Audacity production environment.
