Recording device error message
I have a Behringer UMC202HD preamp and I am getting an error message when I try to record. The error reads: Error opening sound device. Try changing the audio host, recording device and project sample rate. The device is showing up as an option for the recording, the drivers have been updated and the recording rate seems to be standard. I'm not sure what to do. i just got this little box.

Re: Recording device error message
I'm having exact the same problem as ppastore with my Creativ SB X-fi. It worked fine but since (I think) the last Windows 10 update I cannot record sound with "what you hear". Not only with Audacity, but other programs also don't work anymore to record sound. It seems that Windows update has updated my Windows 10 sound drivers with drivers from Microsoft dated 11th of April 2018. Does anyone know a solution for this?
Re: Recording device error message
The "official" solution is to buy a new sound card. The Creative X-FI sound cards are now obsolete.Batch wrote:Does anyone know a solution for this?
Alternatively, you may be able to use the WASAPI method as described here: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tut ... ndows.html
