Re: Transcription Toolbar – looked but didnt find answer

Despite repeatedly “checkmarking” the transcription toolbar, it seems to repeatedly uncheck itself and has never shown up.
Used it for years w/my mac.
Mac took a dump.
On WIndows now. cant get the darn Xcription toolbar to appear.

That’s a very old version. The current version is Audacity 2.2.2 and it is available via the Audacity website: Audacity ® | Download for Windows
The Transcription Toolbar should be shown by default, so I’m puzzled by this 
Have you tried resetting Audacity to factory settings by deleting the audacity.cfg file ?

If you use the EXE installer for 2.2.2 for Windows you will be asked as part of the installation process if you want to reset your settings.
