Transcription Toolbar

Help for Audacity 2.x.x on Windows.
Forum rules

Please state which version of Windows you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Help menu > About Audacity".


Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.
The old forums for those versions are now closed, but you can still read the archives of the 1.2.x and 1.3.x forums.

Transcription Toolbar

Aud 2.1.3

Despite repeatedly "checkmarking" the transcription toolbar, it seems to repeatedly uncheck itself and has never shown up.

Used it for years w/my mac.

Mac took a dump.

On WIndows now. cant get the darn Xcription toolbar to appear.

That's a very old version. The current version is Audacity 2.2.2 and it is available via the Audacity website: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/

The Transcription Toolbar should be shown by default, so I'm puzzled by this :?

Have you tried resetting Audacity to factory settings by deleting the audacity.cfg file ?

If you use the EXE installer for 2.2.2 for Windows you will be asked as part of the installation process if you want to reset your settings.
