Help for Audacity 2.x.x on Windows.
This forum is for Audacity 2.x.x on Windows.
Please state which version of Windows you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Help menu > About Audacity".
Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/
The old forums for those versions are now closed, but you can still read the archives of the 1.2.x

2. A simple USB device
You need to hit it closer than that. What device?
I think it's still true Audacity won't play multi-track. Your choices are mono and stereo.

Plus, without special software/drivers a Windows application can only record from one device at a time and play through one device at a time.
The best solution for multi-channel playback is a 5.1 channel or 7.1 channel soundcard (but not with Audacity).
