down load - 1 computer or network server?
I'm in a workshop for concurrent teachers (hs teachers teaching college classes at hs) and the presenter noted your site as top notch and free. My question is do the down-loads that need to happen have to be on each computer or can my IT guy down load them to the server and make them accessible from any school computer?
Re: down load - 1 computer or network server?
Audacity should be run on the local computer and not across a network.
Until Audacity 2.0 is released the latest (beta) version is highly recommended (the 1.2.6 version is now very old and often gives problems on newer hardware).
Your IT guy can download the ZIP version and simply copy the extracted zip folder across to each computer (it does not need to be "installed"). You will then just need a link to the "audacity.exe" file (assuming that you are running Windows).
