How to export in CCITT A-law wav, 8bit, 8kHz

Dear colleagues,
I need to export audio with different codecs/sample rates/etc. to G.711 codec - a mono, 8bit,8kHz CCITT A-law WAV file.

But unfortunately, if I choose A-law for the generated file format is not correct and can not be processed further.
Are there any differences between A-law in AUDACITY and CCITT A-law?

I attach a snapshot from NCH Wavepad, which allow the export in the desired format and a snapshot of the installed audiocodecs in my machine.

Please advice how to proceed with Audacity.

Which version of Audacity are you using?
What's your operating system?

(there are different parts in the forum for these, which help to cut out having to ask.)

Audacity 1.2.6
Windows XP SP 3, 32-bit

Audacity 1.3 supports Microsoft A-LAW (identified by the Audio Code 0x0006) which as far as I know is the same as "CCITT A-Law". I don't know about 1.2.6 (not had it installed for quite a while now).

Audacity 1.3.7 also supports ffmpeg encoder, which provide support for many file formats. This is still experimental, but it may provide the functionality that you require. (Audacity 1.2 does not support ffmpeg).
