Audacity Add Plug-in

Good Day..

I am now developing a plug-in for Audacity...

My problem now is on how to automatically get the values on the input or recorded medium without highlighting a portion of it..

Please help...Thank You!

i mean...is it possible to get the frequency values even if the user will not be able to highlight a portion of the wave?
