Audacity Forum

I've been mixing my own vocal recordings (using a digital recorder) with seperate instrumentals (that my producer makes using Reason) on audacity. However, I can never get it to level of professionalism that I want. I know that it's impossible to make it perfect without the professional equipment, but what are some of the things that I can do to improve the quality? Can anyone suggest any effects I could apply to either track to make them sound better as a whole?

It is not really possible to say how to fix something without first knowing what's wrong with it.
