extract notes to wav

Post by atenzor » Wed Jan 07, 2015 5:37 pm

If I have a recording of a single musical instrument in either polyphonic or monophonic format, is there a way for audacity to automatically split the track by notes and then export each to a wav file? or any software that can do this?

thanks

Sounds like you want a program like Propellerhead Recycle (https://www.propellerheads.se/products/recycle/)

Hmm, but does that only work on beats (drums) ?

I have harmonic content like flute melody, or horns, strings, etc and need a software that can analyze, detect changes in notes (notes) and extract them to separate wav.

thanks

Not in Audacity. This is too close to the frequent request of "extracting the show from the noise and save it as a separate file." You need a sound analysis program, not a simple audio editor.

That seems to be what I am looking for, Koz. Which would be the most powerful Sound Analysis program out there?

I found this, but it is only for music:
