Acoustic to electric?

Post by ChaunceyK » Tue Jul 31, 2012 8:44 pm

First time poster, long-time user, currently running Audacity 2.0.0.

Is there a way to make an acoustic guitar song sound more like electric guitar? Just something to give it more of a buzzy sound. I'm already aware it would also effect percussion & vocals (if there were any).

Thanks in advance.

The only "distortion" effect that is shipped with Audacity is the "Leveller" effect.

If you use Windows you may be able to find a more guitar orientated VST distortion effect that will work with Audacity.
If you use Windows you could use "Guitarix".
