Import 3ga

Post by Yann Soz » Thu May 10, 2012 9:37 am

Many smartphones and tablets use the format 3ga for sound recording. I suggest that Audacity gets the feature of importing this format without obliging the user to download and install an extra plugin to Audacity.

Audacity is a free, open source program and doesn't pay licensing. MPEG1, Layer III creation (MP3) is licensed software by Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft . The easiest, most graceful way around format problems that occur is to rely on third party, open source software like "lame" and FFMpeg. You should install both of them, lame to Export MP3, and FFMpeg to open 3ga format.
