Sound quality diff b/w 1/8" and 1/4" jacks?

I have a digital drumset with many LINE OUT jacks.
For now, I am using the 1/8" jack --> 2 RCA to connect to my AV receiver/home stereo.

Am I losing quality by using a 1/8" jack instead of 1/4" ?

vs.

Hosa Dual RCA to Dual Mono 1/4 in. Cable

Is there any difference b/w these 2?
Why are there two jack sizes in the first place?
Thanks!

1/4" jacks are generally more reliable than 1/8" jacks (more robust sockets and plugs, bigger contact area and stronger contacts).
1/4" jacks are standard for a lot of stage equipment (live performance).
1/8" jacks are more common for domestic equipment.

1/8" jacks will give the same sound quality as 1/4" jacks, but you will need to be careful with them as they are not very strong and will not withstand rough use.
