I wish audacity could convert a picture of a curve into a soundwave, like this:

This is a similar request from people who damage their show so badly that the only thing they have left are the blue waveforms. "Can't I turn the waveforms back into sound."
My guess would be yes, but Audacity doesn't have those tools.
It's harder than you think. Audio always returns to zero or the middle of the waveform before and after the performance. A graphic won't always do that, so it will need to be forced to do it with the attendant distortion. Also, you can't have any wave that stays "up" or "down" for too long as that will cause "DC" problems in the sound system, if it plays at all. If it does play, it may damage speakers.
What's the application or job? You can draw waves free-form in Audacity with the Draw Tool (pencil button).

Nice idea! It would be fairly simple to write a program to do this - it could even figure out an arbitrary "Zero" level. But what would it do with backwards-drawn lines, or loop-de-loops?

As Murky suggests: if you can draw in Paint then you can justb as easily draw diectly in Audacity.
I don't see this FR having any legs - anybody disagree?
