A couple of things:
1. When I attempt to apply the equalizer to a single clip or a single track, the changes get applied to every clip within the recording, even when it's a multi-track recording.
2. When I make a change in the equalizer to a clip, then come back to that clip later to flatten it back out or make other changes, the curve flattens out visually, but the sound itself is left with the previous settings.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

Re: Problems with Equalizer
To apply an effect to just one audio track (or part of an audio track) you must first select where you want to apply the affect.
To select part of a track, click on the track and while holding down the mouse button, drag along the track.
When you apply the effect, it will be applied to the highlighted selection.
To select an entire track, click on the the box on the left of the track (below the track name), but take care to avoid nudging the sliders.

Re: Problems with Equalizer
That's the problem though. I am highlighting the sections, clips, or tracks I want to change, and the changes become universal, and sometimes irreversible.

I can't reproduce this with 1.3.12.longernights wrote:1. When I attempt to apply the equalizer to a single clip or a single track, the changes get applied to every clip within the recording, even when it's a multi-track recording.
What version of Audacity are you using, on what operating system?
Not sure what you mean by "the curve flattens out visually". Applying a "flat" curve to a clip will result in no change to the EQ of the clip.longernights wrote:2.
