At present all pasted audio into new tracks start at 0:00 when pasted unless you create the requisite number of seconds. Please make it so that a paste in a cursor location on a track posts it at that location and not at the end of the latest place there was previously track information, which in a new track is 0:00.
I note that audacity does do proper placement when recording is carried out, the recording starts from where the cursor is on the screen in a new track, not from 0:00.

In 1.3.12 pastes occur at the cursor location. Are you talking about importing audio?
