MP3 Export garbled

Post by DouglasScott » Thu Oct 14, 2010 4:36 pm

I'm having trouble getting a clean MP3 Lame copy. Normally, I wouldn't have the ear to notice a difference between WAV and MP3, but now my MP3 exports are really sounding ugly. What's the remedy?

What version of Audacity and LAME are you using, and on what computer platform? What are your bitrate settings for the MP3 export?

in Audacity 1.3 the bit rate can be changed by clicking on the options button when you export (save) as mp3 ...

For a sample rate of 44100Hz don't use a bit rate below 128Kbps for stereo if you want good quality sound.
