Voice Masking

Suppose I have a waveform of human speech, and my goal is to mask the identity of the speaker effectively without destroying the speech itself. Anyone who has seen A Scanner Darkly probably has a pretty good idea of what I'm attempting here. I've had a few ideas, and mainly I'm looking for someone who has either done this or can point me to a website with more information.
