How to compare a original and a edited mp3 file?

Post by yken » Wed Jul 21, 2010 10:03 am

Lets say i have a speech mp3 file. I edit it, remove some parts and saved.
What i want is this:
I will open both of these files and compare them. The program will mark the removed parts from the master mp3.
This is similar to word documents comparing.

I know this is not a impossible thing but i could not find any software to do this.

Since Audacity doesn't directly edit MP3, all the parts of the second file will be different from the original whether you changed them or not. MP3 transitions always create damage.

Also, Audacity will not recognize spoken words no matter what format they're in if that's what you're after.

Though there is the beginning of some work into pattern recognition in Audacity http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Proposal_Audio_Diff

We're going to teach Audacity to wreck a nice beach?
