Effects always stop at 0:35

When ever i select the whole file and apply an effect, it almost always stops at 35 seconds and the selection collapses to 0:35.
Whats with that?

Could you be more specific? What computer and OS, which version of Audacity, how many tracks in the project, and which effects specifically? You say "almost always" - is it dependent on the effect used, the number of tracks in the project, or some other condition?

Its windows vista with audacity 1.2.6, the sound file is two tracks and 6:30 long.
It does this on almost any sound file but occasionally it works perfectly, dependent on the file and if it decides to i guess.

All effects do the same, (pitch, speed, echo, etc)

Audacity 1.2.6 is known to be very buggy on Vista.
Try Audacity 1.3.12 and see if you still have a problem.
